Day 13 Flamingos, Parades and Love

Flamingos, flamingos, flamingos, spotted in the Harley-Davidson parade?! What the heck was that about! Oh, that's right Our beloved Biffy was riding in the Harley-Davidson parade and she had to be properly attired. So out came her flamingo hat and Dame Edna glasses and pink boa- once again she was a Devine fashion statement!!

Super Sherry, had a very special guest on the back of her bike for the parade. The hotel where the biker babes stayed at, the sales manager bent over backwards to make sure they were accommodated well and taken care. So super Sheri offered to have Gina, ride on the back of her bike for the parade. Gina was such a happy camper! Gina got to riding in the Harley-Davidson parade and was beaming ear to ear the whole way!

The parade  was an unbelievable experience! There were over 6000 bikes rumbling through the streets of Milwaukee. all along the route there were thousands and thousands of people cheering and clapping for the bikers. Many were holding signs welcoming the bikers home! Biffys  little heart grew just like that grinches heart, once again. When she saw the welcome home signs it's not only meant that her bike was home she was home. she almost had a tear coming down her cheek.

Day 12- Cars, Raw Dogs,, thunderstorms and shopping !

She rode 3900 miles, she shop, and she had to ship!!!

Today, the biker babes vroom, Vromm mahone had four wheels that were all connected. They rented a car, a good thing they did, because there were huge thunderstorms in the afternoon! And even more importantly, the car allowed Biffy to do much more shopping! She shopped so much that she had to ship a box back. Thank goodness for FedEx!!

Once the rain stopped,  the biker babes connected with their new Friends, otherwise known as the "raw dog duo!!!" The raw dogs are a fabulous couple from Virginia and originally they are from Sacramento!

The foursome went down to the Summerfest grounds on the Lakeshore of Milwaukee. That's where all the  concerts and things are were happening.

Raw dog #1 - Liz, and Biffy believe they are raw sisters from another mother and father. Not only do they share an appreciation for Harley's, they have an appreciation for shinny , blingy things And both are a bit quirky! The two of them even took a fair ride way above the Summerfest grounds and got to see all kinds of cool things from a birds eye view. The best part was seeing hard-core Harley riders in these little colorful fair ride seats

At the Summerfest grounds, the four bikers were taken aback at just how international this event is. People wore they hog ( harley owners group) leather vests. the foursome saw the people from Belgium, France, India, Japan, Malaysia, Bali, Italy, Madrid, Latin America, Mexico, Germany! The most memorable were from China. The Chinese were very, very friendly and gave each of the four bikers a pin  from their local hog chapters. They placed the puns in the hands of the American bikers and said thank you. Well this would've been just a lovely little incident except biffy really had an incident! the Chinese rider place the pin in her hand and patted it whilst Biffy realized the pin did NOT have pin backs .. So literally the pun stabbed our poor Biffy!! Tragidty!!?

Day 11 - welcome home!!!

The day started with a 9am visit to one of the local dealers....can we say it again....9am..... Just in case riders needed a nap there was a futon....that  looked like cheese...Wisconsinites are so accommodating and crafty... Who else would think of a cheese futon???

The rock bands were playing, the vendors were selling crap upon crap, and the rumbling was non stop. Did we mention it was 9 am!!

The biker babes went to Madison so Biffy could do a bit of shopping and lunch with one of her old friends. Madison has the best Napaluze food outside of Napal. The babes plus one (the old friend) got to dine at Humli Chuli .....yummy yummy Momochas. Biffy got really pretty scarf, tank top and eating from a Endless Knot another favorite store if Biffys.

Truly amazing to see the support that the city has for Harley Davidson. Everywhere,  everywhere has signs welcoming Harley-Davidson riders. all the billboards in the city have messages to riders, like  the Salvation Army and the McDonald's billboard that says "throttle up," or the newspaper ad for milwaukees contemporary srt museum that welcomed Harley riders!!Milwaukee loves  The Harley-Davidson riders!!!  Just plain a major love fest is happening in milwaukee !!

And the babes began a new love fest with Liz and Phil from Virginia .......tester alert......

Day 10 - PARTY!!!! Made it to Wisconsin 3809miles

Yea, Baby!! The party has begun!! And super sheri met a new fluffy friend!!

All the way on the ride today the biker babes saw  hundreds of bikers all heading towards Wisconsin. Just like homing pigeons, the Harley-Davidson bikes were riding their way to their home. Vroom, vroom the bikes are a little louder than those damn pigeons.

Amazingly, very, very few other women were on the Harleys. At least riding them, many women there were passengers. Any of the other women riders were with groups of men. The biker babes were the only only women group.

The biker babes of had a blast, meeting all the other bikers from all over the country -  sitting down and telling the road stories.  It was kind of like fish stories… Who's got the bigger fish… Yet in this case, it was who rode the longest ride… Yeah, the biker babes always WON that this story…

it has been pretty cool, almost all the men that the biker babes have interacted with have been truly impressed that the babes have ridden across country.

As the babes got into Wisconsin, the they stopped at a couple of the dealerships who were already having parties. Sheri met a new friend. Andy the Amarillo. Biffy consider trading in her big bike for the cutest little a pink scooter! But she decided that little scooter might not make it up back to California. and sheri refused to tow the scooter behind her big bike.... Nothing about wether or not could super sheri do it... Rather super sheri refused to be seen with that pink scooter... All about image!!!!

Sadly, biffy had to let go of her dream scooter.... another dream
CRUSHED....reality life is so difficult. So to feel better she shopped and did get a pretty new device for her big bike. its a shinny new chrome cupholder!! It's so pretty and it holds her morning coffee the best way to ride!! And it's chrome and sparkles... And sparkly things are good things!!!

As the day came to an end, the biker babes went down to the hotel lounge for a little supper. Yes, in the Midwest it's called supper not dinner!! Once, again, she confirmed she was no longer in California… She was definitely in the Midwest! Biffy  asked the waiter to describe The cheese soup that was on the menu. The waiter's eyes lit up and a smile beamed across his face, as he said it is  great soup and it is "like hamburger helper without the noodles " Sheri Experienced her happy place, as she realized Biffy had nothing to say, biffy was tongue-tied, biffy had quite quizzical look on her face. running through Biffys head was "what the fuck does one say to somebody who says restaurant food is so good because it tastes like hamburger helper??" An appropriate  response  to the waiter may have been....."And does it come with a side of spam??

Day 9 - TRAGEDY....Biffy left her happy place....but now rode 3417miles

Lady Baltimore's heart is breaking…… And so is biffys heart because she had to leave the most wonderful place, filled with the most wonderful oddities, the most wonderful dining experiences, the pleasure place, and even a wonderful friend Miss Donna!!! Charm city most definitely Charmed our biker babes!

And it was time for the babes to transform back into being biker babes. They packed up the bikes-Which was a wee bit challenging since Biffy did a little bit of shopping! Biffy had to get mighty, mighty creative to get all her stuff on the bike, thank goodness for bungee cords and biffys past life as a Girl Scout where she could lash together an entire furniture set out of sticks and Twine. Just like finishing school's, Girl Scout skills sure do come in handy sometimes.

The biker babe's made one more incredible fashion statement by putting layers and layers of gear and even an extra layer because it was expected  to rain. Not sure if the biker babe or reenacting the weeble look or Gearing up to be America's next top model.. In her weeble frock,  fortunately, this time, Biffy  remembered that wearing suspenders on your rainpants is just a bad bad idea.... Or would necessitate wearing one more layer of gear… depends undergarments.....Also, Biffy might not be so upset about the potential of having to wear depends if they made adult depends like they are making the kids diapers now… Glow-in-the-dark!! That's what the aging baby boomers need ...a pair of depends that glow-in-the-dark!! Biffy is Pondering whether or not that nifty little shop in Georgetown, the pleasure place,  might actually carry glow-in-the-dark depends??

Okay enough the speculation, and on with the story.

The biker babes left the land of so many oddities, and Biffys  heart was breaking but she symbolically gifted a piece of her heart to Baltimore And a part of Baltimore will always stay within Biffys  heart. And Biffys Baltimore heart is the part full of oddity inspiration…does that mean she will be creating her own oddities back in ca????  She will have a lot of time to ponder what those oddities Could be as she rides all the way back to California..

Along the way, today, The biker babes realized the Harley party is starting! As they ride down the freeway they saw over 30 other Harley riders .....all heading towards Wisconsin! It's time it's time for the Harley celebration!

And one last cranky ......., who ever decided this Ohio and Pennsylvania Turnpike toll shit was a good idea for bikers is full of crap!! The way the tolls work out here suck!!! First, you have to  pull a ticket and then at another toll both you have to stick that ticket into the machine and pay whatever the amount says. Do you know how hard complicated that is to do on a motorcycle?! At one particular toll booth, some guy in some huge truck decided to beep, beep, beep,  beep at the biker babes as they were trying to take care of paying their tolls. Biffy had a moment, she got off her bike turned towards him, blew him kisses and then clasped her hands together and bowed to wish him well. Pretty sure that Guy was heading for Chicago… chi town Harley-Davidson dealer.

Day 8 - Damm DC has more historic buildings than oddities ...but has a lot of odd people... Like republicans

From one extreme to another! Today, the babes were The walking, and train taking babes. The babies took off from Baltimore and went into DC for the day. Now, that was quite a change of pace, from the kitschy charming term city to DC which is… DC.

Two very, very, very, fortunate events did happen today. First, As those of you know, who know our favorite Biffy she has an unusual fear of rapid transportation. And just quit convinced every time she gets on it she's going to end up in Fresno Ca. It does not matter that the rapid transportation does not go to Fresno, if he still believe she will end up there if she gets on rapid transportation. Hey, at least if he admits her neuroses!! Can you say the same??

So, now that the babes were headed into DC in rapid transportation. Biffy kept expressing her fears of Fresno, Fresno, Fresno to everybody on the train. they looked at her "like what the fuck is Fresno?" The East Coast people, they kind of have salty language!! Fortunately, the babes did make it all the way into DC and not Fresno!

The babes got to go on a trolley tour of DC!! OMG how many blessed historic buildings and monuments can they see you Monday!?? Oh let's see, let's start by just counting 86 international embassies!!

The second, really, really cool thing they saw was MLK jr III!! No kidding, he and his family were across the lawn from the biker babes. He had been doing NPR story core he was walking right towards the Tourist Tilley car. See the picture it's proof!

In addition to DC, the babes went to Georgetown. Georgetown is a little stuffy not as bad as DC but still a little stuffy. So, biffy had to really stretch to find her oddities....just aren't the same caliber as Baltimores!

In Georgetown, the babes found a street sign that said Wisconsin!! That's biffys homeland and with the babes will be heading towards soon. Another oddity of sorts, was the Georgetown bakery which is featured on tv. Biffys Favorite Georgetown oddity, was the store named the "pleasure place"! Oooo la la!! Hey, she had to stretch to find those oddities and if it had to be an s&m place it had to be an s&m place!!

Day 7 - DEVINE day in Baltimore!!! No ride..

Finally, a day of rest and Biffy is pretty sure she has found a new home....sooooo many oddities ..... Sooo many!!! The day started with breakfasting at the infamous Cafe Hon the place with a giant flamingo outside, leopard print booths and waitresses with huge hair!

Much of the day was spent at the visual arts museum.... The coolest place on earth!!! Flying women on motorcycle, kenestic floats that go on water and land and just happen to look like a giant pink poodle,a six foot round ball made of bras, an entire wall homage to FARTS, pimp my ride - wheel chairs,  giant ship made out of toothpicks.... OMG Biffy was iin her happy, happy place!!! So many oddities... So little time!!

And the oddities did not end at the museum!! The Biker babes, plus one, Donna (Biffys BFF who lives in Baltimore) went to tour neighborhoods. OMG, Biffy was drooling, drooling and drooling. House after, house after, house after yard after yard after yard filled with oddities! The favorites had to be the spooky house that had bats and black flamingos or the House with the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus painting that you could stick your head through! That was in somebody's yard! How cool and creative is that? Pretty sure this neighborhood is nirvana for our old biffy!! Funny how she felt she fit right in.

After the truth neighborhoods they did a little shopping. They took a really cool water taxi to a bunch of different shopping and the trio had a lovely dinner while watching the sunset over the water.
