DAY ONE 321 miles in Grants Pass OR

Oh boy, oh boy!! The biker babes are on their way for this years trip!!!! And such an exciting start to the trip they have had......

First, it all started late Friday afternoon when Sheri went to visit the devil bike mechanic, aka Marc Bachman, to pick up their bikes which she had dropped earlier that week. He just happen to mention that he thought the BBs (biker babes) were not in a hurry for the bikes and he'd have them ready for them on Tuesday.

WHAT....WHAT......no bikes till TUES......Devil mechanic obviously, loves living his life on the edge. When our beloved Biffy learned of this set back...she...hmm.....she...hmm how do we describe her reaction......hmmm......She clearly has some new popped veins on her forward......And as we all know she is mighty skilled in the four letter language of sailors....and she certain showed her prowess in this skill on Friday night and it may have included some kind of threat to the devil mechanic.....who certain was seen shaking in his tennis shoes..

Ah alas, even though he is a boy, and a boy that looks like the biker version of a Ken doll - complete with Crissy his girl friend who looks like a short Barbie, devil mechanic did the right thing ..and his motivation had nothing to do with and sailor language threat, he stayed late and tuned up the bikes and had them ready for the BBs!!  Ok he gets a cookie for that...good boy, good boy....

Then it was ride morning!! They checked weather forecasts and it looked like bad storms in the Grand Canyon area but good weather in Portland. So, off to the north the babes headed, And of course, they were accompanied by  their faithful doggie companion.. Roadie in tow.

They flew through, the brown, brown evergreens near Mt Shasta, cruised the Siysokus. And one of the most unusual sites, was a billboard stating "Limousin Cattle.'  Yes, the perfect way to woe a girl at prom, pick her up in your Limousin cattle...or maybe pick up your business associate with the Limousin cattle....everybody needs a good cattle ride once in their life.

Now, that kind of highlight is hard to beat but there was another highlight. The heat, yes the #@* heat....Wowzer, much of the ride Biffy's thermometer on her bike was reading over 105degrees..and that did not account for the heat off the road, the heat off the bikes and that the BBs were in full gear......Thankfully, the BB's and Roadie all had cooling vests......special vests that hold lots of cold water and are a blessing in super heat. Those helped a bit and the BBs were ooooooh so relieved when it was only 95 degrees...Yea 95 ....when someone is relieved that it is "only" 95 degrees...yes, we know brain/perspective was affected by the heat!!

While suffering through the tremendous heat... clearly a miracle did happen!!! As evidenced by the fact that neither girl nor dog melted from the heat nor melted from all the water poured over them to help deal with the heat. Thus, proving the incorrectness of rumor that Bif or Sheri are related to the wicked witch of the west, and suffer from the same unfortunate genetic disorder which causes a being to melt when water is pour upon them. Clearly, the BBs are not wicked witches......hmm maybe.. Biffy still does remember here wiccan days and will cast a spell on anyone who claims "wickedness" of either Bif or Sheri......Be scared very scared........you question her power....hmm think about the devil mechanics deads......ordinary men doing the right thing.........or was he influenced by some otherly power......hmmmmm....Only Biffy will ever know.

Today, adventure ended with a lovely two course meal from Elmer's Diner and a stay in room hotel jacuzzi!!

Ah what will happen with the BBs tomorrow??
