On the road again Lalala. It was another day of driving, driving, driving. With much excitement when stopped at roadside oddities!!

Golly Gee, the girls and their dog got to see the world's largest wooden nickel!! This is a whole lot better than getting a penny for your thoughts….

And, oh my God, hold us back from the excitement they experienced in rock island Illinois!! They met famous people, The Blues Brothers, saw cool sculptures, had good coffees .!!!!

And the best part of Rock Island Illinois was mama Comptons restaurant!  they have the most creative way to tell you which restroom to use!

The trio even got to see the mighty, mighty Mississippi River!!

Finally, the trio arrived in Milwaukee! Oh boy, oh boy, it's the homeland. Time for Kip to check out boats, to watch an air show and the best part of the day… Ricky got to meet grandpa Chris's dad. What a day!

From Beaver Crossing to "Kum& Go"

Oh golly Gee we love our Midwest people.  Their creativity in naming things is… Astounding! A town called Beaver Crossing and a chain of gas stations called Kum & Go!!!

Chris particularly likes the name of the local gas stations… It brought back a lot of memories of… Dating!

Today, was a day of driving, driving, driving,. The trio had a fun stop in North Platte which is close to where Kip grew up. Kip was shocked to learn that Chris actually knew of the place and had actually stopped there in the past. She had even shopped at Fort Cody, the crappy tourist place. But of course Chris, was shopping....why wouldn't she have stopped there??? North Platte, is  a common stop on her motorcycle runs. Yet, the ever so experienced traveler, Chris hadn't seen all of the North Platte town, Kip introduced Chris to a cultural culinary delicacy! The infamous Runza.

Thank the Lord jesus, Nebraskans have figured out another way to serve fried fast food hamburger! What would the world be without a Runza!

And oh Lord the corn, corn, the corn. Fields and fields but it was a beautiful sight to see , things that were green. And for both kip and chris..... It was home..... Landscape they grew up and warmed their hearts.... It's home.....

And the windmill farms were pretty nifty keen too.

Early in the day, The trio learned that Kip has a keen sense" of direction. Especially, when they were heading towards Kansas… Not Iowa ..,,as intended.... And they learned that Chris, is having serious menopause memory issues. She left her drivers license at a gas stations which required a three hours extra driving experience for chris, while Kip lounged at the hotel. Fortunately, the gas station had her drivers license! And it is confirmed that Chris has menopause issues. Amongst all her other issues.!!!  "A mind is a terrible thing to lose "Dan Quayle.
And, today it was confirmed that Ricki has proven himself to be a perfect traveling dog.

Summer 2015 Ricky's Ramblin Road trip!

Day one - Colorado Springs to Kitteridge Co

Lions, and tigers and bears… Oh my, not kidding,Bears, freaking bears!!! We could not take Ricky out for a walk in the evening because there were BEARS!!!  Around noon, we left Colorado Springs for a journey up to Kitteridge Colorado where Kips  sister Kay lives. And a lot of bears live there, bears !!!!  Kay, used to have chickens but the bears ate the chickens!! Kip thought it was a good idea to bring city girl Chris to the land of the bears.... oh my!

Prior to going to the land of the Bears, The trio took a tour of Manitu springs Colorado. Chris triied to ride a kangaroo… Yep, she was trying to get a jump on things.

Right across the street from a cute little deli where the too was  having a nosh, was an ammunition shop! Yep, a darn good tourist stop .....the ammunition shop. Top site not to
Miss . The tri is in the wild West. Oh and how could we forget, we also saw a sign to Santa! Santa lives out here with the Bears. Maybe if Rudolph dies he can just get a beer with a red nose to lead his sleigh

And we must note, Kay was an amazingly lovely host. She made a super good supper. That was even better than the damn resort food Chris was forced to eat for three days in a row.  And the two California girls and Ricki had a great time hanging out with three young ladies from Kitteridge Colorado  with Kip's niece, Olivia and two of her charming funny friends.
